The Z28's version is slightly de-tuned due to the more restrictive air flow and exhaust.Īll Base coupes received body colored C-Panel (unless with T-Top's in which case both roof and c-panels would be black) and all Z28's received black C-panels no matter if equipped with T-Top's or not. The LT1 was 1st seen in the 1992 Corvette. The Z28 was powered by the LT1 5.7L V8 MFI making 275hp. Another reason was that power output was was approaching the Z28's level! The DOHC would have been nice and the potential was enormous, but at a 1/3 more cost GM opted to go with the OHV 3.4L. The Z34's engine was an DOHC making around 200hp, compared to 160hp of the Camaro. This is not the same 3.4L that powered the Lumina Z34's of the early '90s. The coupe has black "CAMARO" icons on the front fenders just behind the wheels. Available in two versions: the base coupe, and the Z28. They have a unique intake manifold casting due to their fuel rails.ġ993 marked the introduction of the 4th generation Camaro. LT1's were ECM controlled rather then PCM, ran off of Speed Density, and were batch fire injected rather the sequential. They also had a lower torque capacity because of this. A4 cars came with the non computer controlled 700R4. The unique transmission in 93 had a higher (numerically) 1st and 6th gear and GM offered 2.73's to conteract this. M6 cars offered with either 3.23 or 2.73 rear end ratios due to the 2 different 6 speeds offered in that year. Introduction of the LT1, rated at 275 horsepower. ![]()
